Hi so i managed to lose like 30 pounds which i'm happy about. However, lately i have been eating over the calorie limit (1540) that will let me lose weight. twice now, in two weeks i have eaten 3000 calories and this week i have eaten over 2000 calories twice. i'm not sure if this is the reason on maybe i'm being a failure but i have been on my period for nearly 6 weeks. and it has been really bad one. any advice i'm so disappointed in myself and fed up. Tired of being the fat girl everyone has lost weight in the past and i've been getting bigger.

First, see your gyn about your period lasting for 6 weeks.

I would have freaked and run to the doctor if my period had lasted more than a week and a half, and you've not done anything about it when it's gone for SIX WEEKS?!

Come on, you know that's not normal!

I was on my period for 6 weeks once. I went to a doctor around week 3 or 4 and they told me there was nothing wrong with me and checked my iron levels to make sure I was fine and told me to come back if I still had it in 3 weeks or so. But it is still very important that you see a doctor so they can tell you if something is wrong.

First, i agree...see a doctor asap. But think, Have you recently started or stopped a new birth control or medications? Hormone levels change with our cycles. I get crazy cravings with my cycle. With that being said, don't beat yourself up. The good thing is that you recognized your indulgences. Don't feel bad. Indulgences are ok every once in a while as long as you don't make it an everyday thing. Also, it sounds like you would benefit from a good scale and meal planning. I know when I plan my meals, its less likely that I will overindulge in unhealthy habits! Keep it up! You can do it!

You're not a Failure! You've had some bad days and you have something odd going on. You may have stronger cravings because you need something with the crazy cycle. See that doc ASAP!

If you've been bleeding for six weeks, your body NEEDS food. That's probably why you're overeating. And, YES, go see a doctor!

If you're period has lasted that long, get that in check first. The last time my period was lasting about two weeks I felt horrible and staying in a deficit was extremely draining, so I really understand how you would want to be eating more.
