That's pretty cold. Hope you weren't trying to ride when it was that cold. I know some people do, but I get cold just thinking about it.

I'm riding later today, it shouldn't be quite that cold then... - 5C is still not really considered cold here, just fresh. The limit to not ride, or ride very lightly, is generally -18C (- 0.4F) here. Cold is just a matter of getting dressed adequately, which makes it a lot easier to handle than heat. You can only remove a limited number or clothing

Unfortunately, I don't seem to handle cold all that well. Dunno if it's a circulation issue or what. Fortuntely, the barn we board at is at least semi-heated, so even if it's too cold for me to ride I can still go out and spend some time grooming my boy and hanging out with him.

@Muldactus ahh I see, the barns are always heated here. The cold limit for riding is only because it gets harder for the horses lungs when it's -really- cold, not because anyone would -feel- too cold

Riding in a down jacket, winter breeches, winter gloves, insulation hood under helmet and wool socks in padded boots without a saddle can actually be a rather warm experience

....and one of the best things to do christmas time!
