Exhausted by lunchtime

Would any nutrition buffs care to tell me why I am exhausted by 12-1pm daily and especially buy 3pm? Am I not eating enough of something? I have just started taking VIT D but surely that can't be why I'm exhausted?

Also, I've started f45 training and I am starving the day following a class.

Well, first of all, are you getting enough sleep?

Sorry, you don't log consistently enough for me to tell from your diary. Maybe stop with that shake in the morning and find something that fills you up.

get rid of the protein shakes and eat some real food. Unless you are doing hard core works outs either right before or right after you do not need that much protein and carbs; especially in a liquid form. When an abundance of protein is eaten, the body can only use and process so much. Your drinks are 36 g of protein and 21 g of carbs. The proteins and carbs are a rush to your liver which creates a glucose spike (sugar rush); Excess sugar is stored as fat. Later in the day you are probably crashing. You need to injest your proteins and fats with lots of fiber which helps slow the spikes to your liver. also make sure you are eating snacks in between your meals. An apple has more caffeine than a cup of coffee. That with a small handful of non salted almonds would be a great pick me up.

I used to carb crash. My blood glucose would drop too low about two hours after eating. I was tired and shaky.

Perhaps and fats and proteins to your breakfast and lunch? Or cut back on carbs somewhat.

Try for a week or two of reducing carbs and sugars so that you can add yummy fats and oils.

Try eating every 3 to 4 hours but small meals. Divide whatever your current calories are into small portions through out the day. It helped keep my energy stable all day.

Talk to a doctor if this is a long-term thing. As others have stated, you can try a more substantial breakfast and make sure you are eating enough of the right foods. But, if you have not already, you should see a doctor. Sometimes there could be an underlying medical condition.

the eating lots of meals thing works for me. Also eating food instead of shakes. The only time I have a protein shake is if I'm nearly out of calories and am still hungry at night.

That is a crazy amount of calories for a shake

Ok I'll try that, I know that eating carbs at 1-3pm is a no no for me it puts me straight to sleep but a little in the morning has given me a boost. I'll definitely try more small meals and see how I go :-)
