5th times the charm

My name is Katie and I am a mom of 2. I have been married for 7 years but i have been with my husband for 15. I think this the 5th time trying to lose weight sense i have had my kids and I just can't seem to do it. I got on the scale this morning and just wanted to cry. I am 262 lbs. That is way too much. I also saw pictures of myself working out and all i thought about was how big I had let myself get. So i asked my husband to help me this morning, and I joined a cross fit boot camp (started this past Saturday), but my biggest issue is food. I like junk food, it is easier than preparing healthy meals so I guess the biggest thing is too keep the junk food away from my house. I don't want my daughter to end up like me so this would probably help her as well. She seems to make the bad decisions that i make and she is only 3. SO any advice that you have for me would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to getting to know people.

Hi Katiejo! I know how hard it is. I think this is my 6th or 7th time on MFP. I always gave up on weight loss because I didn't see results right away. I know what you mean, food is also my problem. I have a binge issue, once I start to eat I can't seem to stop. I'm trying to take things one day at a time with MFP's help. Feel free to add me for support!

HI Katie, I know the feeling.. I stepped on the scales a little over a week ago and I felt like crying. I started MFP and dropped 5 pds right away but now I am at a stand still. I feel really discouraged, but I want to lose weight so bad. I am wishing you all the luck in the world. We can do this. By the way, I am from Newfoundland, Canada.

    Hi Katie.

You've taken the first step - sometimes that can be the hardest part of the whole process. MFP will most definitely help you stay strong and on track. Let your husband and your daughter be your motivator. I promise you can do this. Stay strong, keep your head up and believe in yourself. Best of luck :)

It HAS to be an unconditional decision to change habitual behavior. If not, then there will be a 6th, 7th, 8th etc. attempt. While the approach would be better to eat more whole foods with higher nutritional value, there's still room for junk food IF you don't exceed your calories and are meeting your daily macro/micro nutrient essentials.

Most Crossfit boxes will encourage you to go Paleo, but it's much more important to go with an eating program that you can do for LIFE rather than for short term weight loss.
