Do you weigh yourself when sick?

So as some of you know I am a bit under the weather. Sore throat,cough, chills. Still at work because I was away last Thursday Friday and Monday. Could not get out of bed to walk the dog this morning but made it here. My question is it wise to weigh yourself when you are sick. I think i did not do to bad eating yesterday considering how I feel. I weighed in as total habit and I am down 2 pounds. It must be water weight right although I have been drinking tons of water and tea? Just seems like a lot for no reason.

    Bodies are weird even when functioning at full capacity. I'd take the two pounds with a grain of salt and just wait until you're better.

    That's what I was thinking. Well I will probably lose them again at a later date I think I will stay off the scale till I feel better.

    i blame it on lost muscle

    Or your muscles had been retaining water because of increases in exercise, but now with a rest, are not. I'd hate to think muscles actually waste away in such a short period of time.

    No bad eating wow everyone hates the word bad. I said I did not do bad eating meaning I ate as much as I could given that I felt like crap. I did not hit my goal but tried.

    Seriously? This is your question today? You feel like death warmed over and you want to know if the loss on the scale counts? I sincerely think you should take a step away from the scale, and from MFP for a while. You need to focus on getting yourself better, not only from your cold but from your pattern of under eating and binge:restrict cycles. You had a thread yesterday with thousands of posts where people spent all day trying to get through to you and then today you start this? Does the loss count? Seriously!?

    I do too. But then I have to remind myself when I am "plateaued" for a period of time, that the last loss I entered was kind of an artificial loss. I call them "pull aheads".

    Hey it was just a question I was just curious if other people would count it. I did and others do so not to weird I guess. Actually if I'm going to feel like total crap might as well get something out of it!
    And might I add I learned a lot yesterday and I am making adjustments

    Where do u think I got it! Not one person in here is not sick. Year end in the finance department no one stays home everyone works till its done.

    I don't weigh while I'm sick. But then, I only weigh in once a month anyway. I don't need the fluctuations messing with my head.

    Don't forget you didn't eat much while sick. Some of that loss is water because of that and some of it just comes from having less food in your system. That's not something worth celebration for me.

    FYI drinking more water actually makes you retain LESS water. (you lose more "water weight" when you drink more water/fluids)

    Yes, this is why when people over do it with sodium - it is recommended that they drink lots of water the next day. Your body needs water to help flush out the retained fluids.

    OP, Your question is not a stupid question whatsoever. But your reasons behind asking is once again, worrying.

    Weigh yourself as and when you normally would. It's useful to track fluctuations and how your body can react depending on your circumstances. But please go easy on yourself?
