It's not about what you eat, it's about how much. If you've put on weight, it is because you are taking in more calories than you are burning. Plug your stats in to MFP and eat what it gives you.0

I don't eat even 1200 calories a day. I have always been very thin. Between 129-135 .0

Are you weighing and measuring all of your food? How do you know you're eating less than 1200 calories? I bet you are eating more than you think, there's no way you put on 45 pounds by undereating.0

Start accurately logging everything you eat using a digital food scale. I bet you'll be surprised.0 -
Ok, but I really do keep track, I'm not going to lie to myself. If I have a drink or anything I log it. Who's going to see it? Me and I'm not going to be hurting anyone but me. But thanks for your input.0

I'm not doubting that you track your food, I was just wondering how you were measuring your portions. Using a food scale is more accurate than measuring cups or eyeballing.

Your body cannot defy the laws of physics. Weight loss and gain is all about calories in and calories out. Have you had your thyroid checked? It's impossible to gain eating less than 1200 unless you are very short and underweight.0

I'm 5'7 and before they put me on meds I weighed 129 sometimes 135. And I have everything checked sometimes 2 times over.

I have worked with nutrients and doctor's but have lost my faith in them. After putting on the weight from the medication I have had a very hard time keeping it off.

The most likely cause is that you are eating more than you believe you are. Its hard to believe, but that's the most usual reason and the only way to find out is to start weighing your food and logging every bite honestly.0

As far as what?0

I have just started Jenny Craig. ..0

The only reason you're gaining is because you are eating more calories than you are burning. Weigh out your portions and that will help you get an accurate picture of how much you are eating.0

Were you more active before this job? I have a desk job, and if I don't go on my late night walks, I will only get about 2-3,000 steps in a day.0

You need to open your diary?0

Even the packaged meals can have error. So if you're weighing, I'd weigh those meals too.0 -

+1 meds can cause an increased appetite, but they don't directly cause the weight gain.

I decreased my appetite. ...0

You're not giving us much info to work with here. Can you open your food diary? Maybe we can help that way.0

Yes much more, I work insane hours like 8-80 -
Whenever I stalled or put on weight, each and every time it came back to eating too much, or I wasn't logging each and every thing I ate, and again I was eating more than I thought.
A digital kitchen scale is your best friend if you're not losing weight.0 -
Medications can affect your metabolism but not to the extent that you have experienced0

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I'm just going to echo everyone else and tell you that you're likely eating more than you think you are.
As was said up thread, even pre-packaged foods can be off in the portion size. The other day I had an English Muffin. Package says a serving size is "1 Muffin (57g)". When I weighed it, it was 59g. Only a difference of about 4 calories, but multiple discrepancies like that over time will add up.
Get a food scale. They're not expensive but even if they were, it'd be worth the investment.0 -
How long have you been at this job?
How long have you been logging your food? Have you been consistent (no quick adds, logging everything everyday?) Were you logging during this gain? If not, when did you start (in order to try and see how you could be gaining on 1200 calories a day)0 -
More than likely, you are eating more than you think you are.0

Ok, I will try that, my husband would be all over this. I was anorexic for years and weighed 88 pounds so I watch every thing. So I will get a scale. And try it Thanks for your help0

Be careful. Stick with a professional if you feel like you need the support, rather than slip back into old habits.0
