Hi everyone! I was recommended to this site by a few friends, so I downloaded the app the other night, and poked around the message boards yesterday. I LOVED having a message board when I was pregnant (when I gained all my weight), so I'm looking forward to the same support going the other way!
Anyway, about me: I just turned 28, I have an almost 5 year old son, and currently weigh somewhere between 215 and 225. I gained almost 80lbs during my pregnancy--thanks to pregnancy induced hypertension--and delivered at 260. I immediately lost 30lbs, and worked out religiously to lose another 25. Then my husband and I split up...2.5 years ago...and I got lazy. I wasn't happy with myself, and I just didn't care anymore.
NOW, I find it hard to play with my son without getting winded quickly. I don't want to be the fat mom. I'm not unrealistic, I don't think I'll ever weigh 120lbs again like I did in high school, I just want to be HEALTHY!
A couple of my close friends and I have started the SouthBeach diet, and we're on day 2 of phase 1. I don't miss bread yet, but I want a cookie or something so bad! I know I can make it through though! It's all for a better me!

Welcome!! You have taken a huge step. I have only been here a few weeks but the support is amazing. Being healthy in life is my goal too. I have done South Beach and it is amazing you can see the results. When we did it we used to do the lowfat ricotta and flavor it my favorite was cocoa powder and almond extract. You will succeed!!!0
