Hello myfitnesspal'ers!! Looking to trim down the last 25-30lbs and maintain at a healthy 165-170 (this weight for me is where my body feels most comfortable and I'm highly in tune with my body). As probably many of you have done, you have been yo-yo'ing for your entire life as I have. I think I found my life saver 8 years ago when I was banded (lap band) and over the course of the first 1 1/2 years, I lost 140lbs, up and down at times, thus the extra gains/losses. But have stayed within 25lbs + or - of about 180lbs. I have had to loosen my band completely open now just so that I can re-set my hypothalamus and metabolism in order to eat ANY calories/fat grams in order NOT to gain weight. In other words, I was gaining if I was eating ANYTHING during the day, I had to give my treadmill an hour of my time in order to just maintain a stable weight. Well that's certainly not healthy. So I went to see my lap band doc, got the fluid removed and did the HCG diet for a few weeks in order to reset my system, it worked for me, if it didn't for you, or if you have some adverse judgment for this particular diet, own it, it's yours, not mine. Don't mean to be harsh, but as you can probably tell, at 45 yrs old, and as a nurse who's studied nutrition, I've heard it all. I'm looking for positives in my life, not any Debbie Downer posts that ultimately find their way onto my post. I'm excited about using this application in my daily consumption of foods and hopefully see the scale dip back down into the 170's sooner than later. If not, I know what I'm eating is healthy and I still give my treadmill that hour a day attention, it doesn't like to be used for a clothes hanger afterall!!! LOL My husband and I are dedicated to this life style (not diet) and will be successful at it. He's already lost 9lbs, more if we hadn't spent a long weekend in Port Aransas, Tx on the beach!! Darn it!!
But here's to a gentle introduction to my stomach and intestines of a nicer way of life!! My IBS can't handle the Big Macs!!! Cheers!!

Thanks a million "winewidow", I'm sure we have a lot in common gal! But the premise behind "resetting your hypothalamus and metabolism" is a theory Dr Simeons established 30 years ago.. With all the fatty & toxic food we eat, our bodies get off balance. At the very basic idea of his theory, it makes perfect sense to a clinician, the pathophysiology is spot on. Choosing ANY cleansing diet to begin with before introducing your body back into a normal lifestyle (I don't like "diet") will "shock" the hypothalamus and metabolic system back into a "reset" mode and allow you achieve the weight loss goals you're looking for. My disclosure to this is, I do not advocate or sell the HCG diet, or recommend you change any eating habits prior to seeing your physician for a thorough check up. This is merely what worked for me after having a VERY TIGHT lap band for 8 years, I couldn't transition into normal eating of ANY kind because my body was in starvation mode for such a long time. Hope this helps?

Good luck to you! You've come a long way - the hardest part is yet to come, though, as you make changes to sustain your weight loss for the rest of your life. I'm not a fan of the hcg diet, but if it worked for you then I'm glad! Everyone is different and I'm not going to denigrate what works for someone else. You're obviously on the right track saying that you're making lifestyle changes and not dieting, because (as pretty much all of us learned the hard way) diets just put you on that weight roller-coaster as you're up and down and up and down. You just have to make reasonable, practical changes that you can live with from here on out, and maintain your positive attitude. MFP is a great way to keep track of your calories and build a support network of people with similar goals/accomplishments. Welcome!0

YES YES YES, THANKS Chica_Boom!!! And you're SO right, it's always that last bit you need to lose that's the hardest, but I'm determined and will get it off, not for anything or anybody but for myself! No swimsuit is worth the misery of not enjoying good foods, good friends and life to the fullest! Everything in moderation.. I've learned that above all in the past 2 months, and it's been a hard pill to swallow..0

I did buy it online, I took a good whole week and researched this diet extensively! I bought from this place because I was guaranteed that the drops were 100% HCG along with B12. That where they produce the product is located in Utah, NOT overseas, so they are NOT pregnant women's urine or horse urine (yep, it happens). They are rated really well with the BBB and have over 600+ positive feedbacks in Google:

They are drops, my sister and BFF did the injections, I don't fancy myself as a pin cushion, so I wasn't going for that! But I do have a reputable site to buy the injections from if you'd rather. There are some really great support sites for the HCG diet, including one on FB. The diet itself can be SO complicated that you have to have the support groups for your mulltiple questions, etc. Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know. I bought the 90 day supply knowing that I'd be peppering my healthy lifestyle with the HCG protocol.0
