I am sad because I wont be able to access the website when I am on vacation due to not having internet or phone service while at sea on the cruise. I hate to ruin my consistent logging on. This is the longest I have kept up with logging my food for years. I know I can track w/ pen and paper but not the same. any suggestions

Have you got, or could anyone laon you an ipod touch? You can download this app, then you can log your food without an internet connection. I'm going to have the same problem, and that's what I'm going to do. If not, I don't know...0

Might be worth thinking about a smartphone for while you're in port though.
But ... Are you absolutely sure that the cruise ship does not offer any internet access to its passengers? Not even a small internet cafe? Internet access via a satellite link isn't cheap, but these days it would be a pretty backward looking cruise company which passed on such a golden opportunity to fleece its passengers!0 -
We had mobile service and wireless access on our cruise plus there was an Internet cafe but I didn't use it so can't remember how much it was.
You might want to make sure you have 'roaming' enabled on your phone to allow you to use different mobile providers.
Have a lovely time0 -
Find a good friend that you trust and send them a daily telegram or Morse code from the ship every day with your logs and have them log in for you and enter it. :laugh:0

My mom uses this site and last weekend they spent 3 days at their lake house, which has no internet. She recorded on paper EVERYTHING she ate then entered it when she got home. Of course the site said she hadn't logged in for 3 days, but that's not fair since she still recorded her food. She sent an email to technical support and they fixed it for her! Now her count is back to what it was.0

I know you want to stick with it but if it were me, I would turn it off for a week. Have fun, be smart, exercise in creative ways. Cruise ships have exercise equipment too. Use your best judgement when eating. By now you should have some idea fi what you are consuming is good or bad. To me it's pointless to log it all in after the fact. What are you going to change? GO HAVE FUN!0

I have the app on my phone but I really dont wont to lose the # of days logging in I may have to find a friend to log on for me the days I cant. I really dont want to use roam on the phone and face a horrible bill when I return. Thanks for all the advice.0

Just remember, if you can't find a logging solution, you should look forward to logging back in when you get back. In order to get internet at the inlaws, I have to sit on the floor in a corner in the basement hooked up to the modem. I only did it for work. But I have better habits now than before and I didn't gain a thing on vacation - as a matter of fact, it seems to have been some water weight keeping me from showing a loss when I first checked because I am down to pounds already! I am extra proud that I can make progress even without that growing days logged in number.
But neither do I take that as an excuse to stop logging when I do have access - I would start slipping fast!0 -
BAH!! Don't even think about the internet or your phone. I wouldn't even touch my phone the entire cruise. Enjoy yourself and eat some of the good things they have. Just eat some bad things in moderation (including the booze) and you shouldn't gain much weight. :-)0

I LOVE this. I will be possibly without internet for a week in August. That is exactly what I'm going to do! Thanks0 -
I would buy a package of time in the internet cafe on the ship and just go on once a day and log everything. It won't take that much time or be that expensive. Obviously you won't want to waste time talking to us when there is a Rhumba class in the ballroom. Either that or just don't worry about it.0
