After loosing my grandad four months ago to cancer, I have been thrown into depression and questioning existence. He meant a hell of a lot to me and raised me. And I just want to feel better. I feel that focusing on my health and being aware of my lifestyle will help motivate me to exercise, to eat right and to enjoy living. I've been binge eating a lot and consequently put on weight, so I aim to loose the extra Weight - and help improve my mental health through the right exercise.

Wow that sort of loss can do a lot to a persons health. I'm so sorry to hear that. I am in the same boat. I've been bingeing like crazy after my abusive relationship ended and managed to gain quite a bit of weight.
I think the best thing that makes me happy again is doing things for myself. Learning to put myself first is probably the best thing I've done in a long time. Spending quality time with the people I love to be around instead of keeping toxic friendships. As you know exercise releases endorphins which in turn make you happy so keep doing you and you will start to feel like your whole self again. Eat clean and train mean girl! You can do it. And if you ever feel alone I'm here to help so feel free to add.
Best of luck to you xx

I am sorry to hear about your loss :(

I lost my Nana last year to cancer. She was the rock of our family and it hit me hard. I stopped going to the gym and gave up tracking calories because I felt like nothing really mattered without her. It took me a while to 'heal' and I don't think I'll ever be over losing her but when I saw I'd gained 2 stone and was miserable with it - I knew she wouldn't want this for me.

MFP will offer you so much support, understanding and advice so don't be afraid to reach out. I promise you can reach your goals.
