There are several steps you can take that can help a lot. The first and most important is verifying your calorie goal is appropriate (I.e. Deficit is a size that is sustainable, not too aggressive). What are your stats & calorie goal?

I tried eating things that were whole but kept me satiated for longer so I frequently eat like an avocado half. Lean chicken or nuts like walnuts and almonds. Also salmon. Just by itself.

Calorie log before you eat anything

Keep low calorie (not diet food) delicious options around

    Budget across the week

Fill up on vegetables with meals

    Eat sufficient proteins and fats

    Move more

Accept that being a little hungry doesn't mean anything, it's an emotion 9 times out of 10. Inspect the feeling, what's wrong with feeling a little hungry? Did you just eat? If you're still hungry in 30 minutes you'll eat something then go do something else like a walk around the block

    Batch cook

If u think you can do it try intermittent fasting. Only eat between 9 and 5 or 10 and 6. Then u can pack alot of food on in the shorter time. Or eat one really large meal that accounts for like 60% of your calories just so u can have that eatimg a whole lot feeling.

Yeaaah, I wouldn't try the intermittent fasting. Plan several smaller meals through the day, or make fruits and raw veggies easily available during the day. I *know* how tempting it can be to throw back a big meal, but you're going to feel bloated and non-motivated afterwards, so what's the point? Also, try some coffee or tea...

log everything in advance and stick to the plan. Make up your foods for the day in advance. I find it easier when I eat small amounts frequently rather than leaving longer time between eating. Don't let yourself get too hungry, don't make food decisions on the spot.

I am going to ask a "bad" question. Do you know the difference between an empty stomach and hunger? Most over weight people don't. There is all the media hype snacking though the day so you don't get hungry. The whole mentality of grazing is becoming really common. After a time we feel "pain" if we have not eaten in just a few hours. Funny thing is, if it was THAT bad... how come everyone does not get up in the middle of the night to eat? Sure, people binge eat but not everyone does.

I would ask that you try fasting to relearn the difference between an empty stomach and being hungry. Now if you can't fast (to due a medical condition) then don't do it. However, if you can fast then try. Eat business as usual then after supper don't eat again until supper the next night. Give your body some time to relearn. I did this three days out of every two weeks for a month or so. I then did a three day water fast. I did get hungry at first but then the hunger just stopped. I took the time to rest and reflect.

It allowed me to learn the difference between an empty stomach and being hungry. It has also allowed me to stop when I am about 80% full and not press straight onto into a "food drunk" mode of eating. Breaking the cycle of emotional need vs physical need. You control what and when you put it in your body, not some "pain" in your stomach dictating your desires.

I now intermittent fast and have been doing so for almost a month. Do I miss breakfast? Sometimes. Most of the time I don't. I give my body more time to be in a fasted state, allowing body systems more time to rest/repair before eating again. Your body also will have more time to tap into fat reserves, since it can't run off the carbs/sugar from the night before.

I would also like to echo what some others have said here. Cut out empty calorie/artificial foods that leave you feeling hungry a short time later. Load up on veggies and other natural foods instead. Compare the amount of "food" in a 100 cal snack vs 100 cal of veggies, like a bacon dripping wilted spinach salad or grilled eggplant. Chances are you are going to want MORE than one 100 snack where the real food will leave you feeling satisfied.

This is a lifestyle change, not a diet. Eat what you enjoy but in smaller portions. Up your protein and fiber (but not all at once or you will have tummy trouble) to keep you fuller longer. Increase your exercise to account for some of your snacks during the day. You'll be surprised that a 10 minute walk can literally change your habits for the remainder of the day. You can do it.
