I am currently at about 135/136 and 5"3. I'm looking to get down to 127 (I liked how I looked two summers ago at this weight). It says I should be eating at 1360 when I previously had about 1200 calories. I started at 139 so I've lost 3ish lbs so far give or take daily fluctuations. I'm afraid to up my calorie intake and not lose the weight at the pace I have been. (typically I'd like a lb a week but .5 lb would be fine also).

Try it and it see how your weight loss goes over the next month. You can adjust from there. You may see an initial gain on the scale from increasing your calories, but it is just water weight will balance out with time.

Edit to add: are you sedentary at baseline? Are you eating your exercise calories back?

I'm 5.2 (& a half!), am at 124.6 right now, and have been losing great on 1400-1600 gross (I'm set to 1600 but vary it quite a bit through the week). I'm lightly active, with anywhere between 5000 and 8000 steps a day. Losing about a pound, a little less, every day. Unless you're quite sedentary I would think 1360 would be no trouble for weight loss, and if you exercise or are at all more active you could likely eat more.

ETA: Losing a pound a week. Not a day. Sheesh.

I would say I'm sedentary. I'm a teachers aide for both reading where I'm sitting from about 8-11 in the morning and then I work with autistic prek aged kids from 12-2:30 so I am definitely up moving a lot with them. I exercise 5 days a week varying walking/jogging or doing some type of weight lifting

I'm about right where you are. I've been using the app for about 7wks and have lost 11lbs so far. I have myself down as lightly active as I spend a fair amount of the work day on my feet. I hit the gym 4 times a week doing mostly strength training, but with a little cardio mixed in.

When I started out I had myself set to lose 1lb a week, and was eating roughly 1200-1250cals per day. I don't eat back exercise calories at all. Then....I figured I needed to slow my rate of loss down so I switched to .5 per week, and have also increased my calories to 1350.

My weight loss did slow down which didn't exactly surprise me because I upped the calories, BUT...it's still coming off. Just at a slower rate. Which I'm totally fine with. :)

Try it for a few weeks and see how it goes. If you use the app in the way it's designed to be used, there is a really good chance it will work. :)

I get wanting to eat less to lose faster. I really do! But you may want to subtract some calories later and you'll want something to cut. The more you can eat while still losing, the better off you'll be.

Give it a shot. You can always cut back down to 1200 if 1360 isn't working, but there's a good chance 1360 will work. :)
