I am new to the site, actually really new only 1 day new. I find myself tracking really easily, though my caloric intake is around 1,000 lower than recommended, but my protein is always above recommended suggestion. My first question is having that many spare calories a concern? Is my protein intake to much to be of concern? My fat intake is low as well, but my carb intake is fine. I am just wondering if I am going about this correctly.

That kinda sounds low. I'm not an expert by all means but if you don't eat enough, you will put your body into starvation mode, which you don't want.

What are your stats? As in, how tall, how many lbs, etc? What is it telling you to eat versus how many cals you're actually eating? Tough to answer w/out knowing where you're at...

I weigh 323.8 and I am 6'3". it is telling me to eat around 2500 calories and yesterday I only ate around 1800.
  • Yikes! 1,800 seems awfully low. You really should check with a professional/doctor on that and the protein intake. I agree with the starvation comment above, it has happened to me. I also know from my own experience that if I don't add enough (good) fat, I wouldn't lose the weight as quickly. Good luck!

Ya, I honestly don't know. I started at 200 and I'm 6ft. I'm on MFP's 2 lbs/wk plan and it tells me to eat a net of 1360. So its tough for me to relate. My mind tells me that being around 2000 should be fine, but I wouldn't give that as advice cuz I'm not qualified to do so.

Soooo... I'd say to try to get all of your cals that MFP tells you and see what happens after 2 weeks. One more thing... did you put your settings as "active lifestyle" or "sedentary" or??? I'm listed as sedentary because I have an office job.
