    In your other post, you mention that you have been lifting for 6-8 months. Have you been following any beginner routine? and as mentioned above, nutrition is key. You really have two options, cut to lose fat and then gain mass after you've reached your goal bf%, or recomp slowly, and I do mean slowly.

    Gaining muscle and losing fat don't go together as well as you'd think. Losing fat requires a calorie deficit. Gaining mass requires calorie surplus.

    It'd be best to focus on one or the other first unless you just want to recomp.

    He is right. It is pretty difficult to do that without exceptional genetics/or a lot of muscle mass. As he said pick one or recomp.
