I often make home made burgers. My question is does the homemade burger option for meal include the bread or just the meat?

Only the person who originally put it in would know. You would be better off creating your own recipe using the tools on MFP. Then you will know exactly what it includes.0

I second that advice. The "generic" or homemade options in MFP database aren't very reliable because they are put in by users so only they know how they prepared it, etc. I would create a recipe in MFP and then portion it out to determine how many calories are in your burger.

What tools are you referring to?0

When you are looking at your diary, there is a secondary menu under FOOD: one of the options there is RECIPES.
So you have light blue menu that says HOME FOOD EXERCISE REPORTS APPS COMMUNITY BLOG
And a darker blue menu that says FOOD DIARY DATABASE MY FOOODS MY MEALS RECIPES SETTINGS. Choose RECIPES from this menu and follow the on screen instructions.0 -
If you made it yourself - Never use someone's random entry - use the recipe builder and actually enter what YOU used. The only time I'd ever use someone else's random entry is if I didn't make it myself, I have no clue what's in it and I just want to get something in my diary and I have no better option.0

This will help you with how to log it: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1234699/logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide0

There is an easy way to answer the original question (even if it isn't the best way to log the food). Does the item have lots of carbs? If yes, it has bread, if no, it is just the patty.0

You've gotten really good advice. I'd also recommend creating your own recipe as others have shared. Weigh your patty and then go from there. Good luck!0
