Having trouble sleeping due to weight loss?

Just reaching out to see if anyone else has had this issue. Ever since I started dieting, going from I'm guessing 2200 calories or more a day to anywhere between 1500-1800 I've had issues sleeping. Some nights it feels like I lay there until about 5 in the morning or 6 and then am finally able to pass out.

A magnesium deficiency can cause this. Natural Calm makes flavored powders and I find it helps a lot. Even with stress and irritability... I don't know if you have a Whole Foodsnear you, but they often have sample packs to try if you want to see if that is it.0

If you are taking a 'whole' supplement, single vitamins may be unneccessary unless you talk to your Dr first. It IS possible to increase different levels of minerals in your body to unhealthy and harmful levels. Do not just randomly start taking excess supplements.
Like cheeks said, there are many variables. Are you working out close to bedtime, are you hydrated (that one wakes me up in the middle of the night so I have to go drink), eating enough for the work you do during the day, stresses in life keeping your mind going etc?

When I'm dieting, especially if my deficit is large and I'm really burning fat, I get bouts of insomnia. I'm also more sensitive to caffeine and have to make sure I don't grab a Diet Coke in the afternoon, or it leads to sleep problems. I hope you find something to help you!0

I, too get bouts of insomnia, when cutting calories and exercising hard!! Melatonin helps me! Dr said TRY IT. works well to get u to fall asleep but won't keep u asleep the whole night.0

I have to take a prescribed sleeping pill to go to sleep. Even then, I keep waking up in the middle of the night, then it is hard to go back to sleep. Even when I "seem" to go back to sleep, it is not deep enough & I feel like I am still awake. I can't sleep at all until the morning. I feel exhausted mentally all the time.0

I have never been a great sleeper but I am finding lately it has gotten worse as I have tightened up on my logging n increased my workouts. So I'm in the same boat.0

How much are you losing a week?
If it's coming off too fast you may simply be to hungry to sleep.0 -
