Weight Watchers vs MFP

I had been using MFP, then stopped because I joined WW - I just recently re-opened my MFP app and I just have to say how incredibly better this app and interface is than WW! Considering I'm paying $19.95/month for WW, you'd think that the technology would be at least comparable to this free app! It doesn't have nearly the database of foods, no ability to import recipes like MFP has...really incredible.

I'm thinking of stopping WW now and moving back to MFP solely. Anyone have experience with both? Prefer one over the other? I've seen that some use these in conjunction, so I'm trying that for the time being, but it doesn't seem to make sense to do both.

Thoughts?

I have been successful on WW in the past; in fact I made it lifetime about 4 years ago. But they changed their points system to encourage more healthful choices, meaning they stopped assigning points to foods such as bananas. The problem for me was I already eat a very healthy whole foods diet. There is no way I can lose weight while not counting things like bananas (110 cal!) because I have the metabolism of a corpse. So to summarize: I like this system better because the calorie count is the bottom line, whether lettuce or sugar.

#1 tip get a food scale. Start practicing food proportions at the beginning.

I was on the weight watchers on-line program for 1 month. Not being an American, there were a lot of Canadian foods and brands missing. There was Weight Watcher's brand food missing. The process for adding a food seemed difficult. I quickly went back to MFP.
