I got this in my farm-to-table basket this week but I don't know what it is. Anyone know?

    I'm quite sure it's a squash, to be more specific (I believe) acorn squash.

    Honestly looks like a very green pumpkin, but I think it's too dark a green for that.
    Some kind of winter squash, anyway. Hope it's yummy!!

    You can cut it in half, scoop out the seeds and then bake it with a little butter. Yum!

    yes, definitely a winter squash.

    i like to bake squash with fresh thyme and a little butter.

    the seeds are really nutritious. scoop them out (like above poster said), rinse, rub with olive oil, a little salt, pepper and dried (or fresh) herbs and bake until golden. they've got more protein than a steak.
