If you've stopped losing - it is time to switch things up. Try different exercises, try zig zagging your calories, even try going OVER your calories for a couple days. Usually, what our bodies need is a good ole shock to the system.
BTW, I work second shift, have 2 teenagers, and am a single mom -- I find time to work out. It's my "me" time. I've been doing 3 days a week/60 mins at a time for a few months now. You just have to carve out the time - even if it means dishes don't get washed right away or the laundry sits for another day.0 -
sorry to hear that you are stuck in a rut. I was at the same weight for about the same time, maybe even a little longer. I was however losing inches. It wasn't until I started to increase my protein intake (I am a vegetarian and started drinking muscles milk lite) that the lbs starting to actually show on the scale. It's easier to dedicate a full hour of working out in the morning, before everyone else is awake, I find this very helpful; this is also my 'me' time and it helps me start the day out healthy. I feel that if I start working out in the morning, I tend to make healthier choices throughout the day. Good luck, I hope I've helped or given you some sort of encouragement0

I agree it seems like I don't have enough time either, but if I did some exercises while watching tv or just woke up a little bit earlier I could fit it in. I usually wake up at 6:15, but I"m going to try to wake up at 5:45 to get in a few minutes extra of exercise. It is hell getting up, but once its done I always feel great about it. You will too.0

It might be helpful if we could see your diary....0

Yep, I feel your pain. Stuck too. Work family, etc. the other option to the time, is to increase the intensity of the work out you do in the shorter time. Kick it up a notch, and change it up a bit. Our body gets used to things and we have to change things up to get results. I'm stuck too. have been for a bit. Keep at it though. You're getting healthier and stronger with each work out, regardless of the number on the scale. I look for other things-how I feel, measurements, the way clothes fit, compliments, etc. to know I'm still making progress when the #$%^& scale doesn't budge.0

You are right. I think exersizing early in the am gets the metabolism going. I am gonna try to do that. Thanks0

Awesome weight loss! I am gonna try to boost my calories. I ate so few for so long, I think it messed up my body!0

Try working out at different times of the day. I know that helped me when I was dropping the weight. Good luck on your journey.0

Don't give up! I was stuck for over 4 weeks (about 10 lbs ago). it seemed like I was gaining and losing the same pound and a half over and over even though I met my calorie goal. Very frustrating! The only changes I made were to really work on keeping my sodium under my limit (i love high salt "healthy" foods like pretzels, cottage cheese and veggie pizza). I also increased my protein slighty because I was usually low there. I started wearing a pedometer every day and looking for excuses to take a walk (talking on my cell phone, meeting with people at work, going to the store or out to eat, etc.). In addition to a workout in the morning, I now usually walk about 10000 steps a day.
Once I did that, I lost six pounds in the next 4 weeks then settled back into a pound a week loss. I'm not sure the changes were the reason for the weight loss or I was just coming off of the plateau, but I'll take it!
Good luck and keep it up. You are worth it.0 -

Kathy,
I had been in a rut for a long time also; worked out for years and didn't lost a pound - gained it instead. I joined Weight Watchers for a few months and the pounds dropped off - my problem was me not documenting what I ate. I got ill so had to give up WW but now that I am better and know what to do I just use this site and I love it. I walk for 45 minutes 3 - 5 days a week and surround myself with people who want to lose weight also. Walking can take place during your lunch, going to the grocery store, walking up stairs instead of taking the elevator, walking with your children to the beach or park instead of driving... Any way I can get my exercise in I do. Know that you are not alone and never give up. You may have to try different things until you find what works for you but as long as you are determined you'll achieve your goal. Hang in there! Oh! A walking buddy is also a big help!0 -
You are right. I love this site because I can write what I eat daily. It keeps me on track. It is a long road for me. I have other health problems that prohibit me from losing, thyroid disease for one and menapause for another, age is not on my side either I am 49. I am gonna keep on trying. So far a net weight of about 2-3 lbs. Thanks, join me and be my friend.
