The hardest part for me was constantly thinking about food and logging food. It's a bit of an obsession until it becomes routine. Then there's keeping at it month after month, when the scale does not always agree with all your hard work. So make peace with the process and make sure you are enjoying yourself.

I am 5 feet tall and lost just over 20 lbs last year. It took about 5 months and I was eating between 1300 and 1400 calories a day plus wxercising. If you can get a Fitbit or something like that then that would help you calculate how many calories you burn in a day. I barely burn 1600 on a day that I don't exercise. Best of luck. Friend me if you'd like I log in almost everyday!

On the other hand, what is everyone's experience how did you feel while loosing the pounds? More energy etc....

    Hi Wife! :)

Its the exercise on top of the diet that energizes me, but they kind of go great together - like milk and cookies.

I find that I enjoy meals more, and enjoy the challenge of making them as tasty and nutritious as possible, for the "right" amount of calories. When I have a treat, I savor it much more than I did when I was taking in an unlimited buffet of treats.

What has made MFP so successful for me has been the realization that I can lose weight without feeling the least bit deprived. I have slowly (about 1 lb/week) lost 30 lbs, and I could never have imagined what a difference it would make in every aspect of life. Don't overthink or stress over it... just START! And welcome! :)
