Turmeric and Paprika

I'm looking to do more with Turmeric and Paprika, they both seem to be great spices! This is what I do so far:
Paprika: Over hummus. Over fish, seafood, Spanish recipes.
Turmeric: Over chicken (along with salt, garlic, oregano)
How do you all use them?

Tumeric doesn't have much flavor, but I add it to my Indian curries and lentils.
For paprika I find it really good sprinkled over chicken with some salt and baked. It's much better than black pepper.0 -
I'll add any savory spices to steamed veggies, vegetable stir-fries, or even salads.0

I use Turmeric for it's anti-inflammatory properties (yes i'm sure there's still debate about this). I'll throw some in a protein shake or add it to my chicken like you . Generally speaking most spices are very healthy for the individual.0

I recently made low fat meatballs (with very lean meat) in a sauce with sauteed onion, garlic, tomato chunks and paprika - add fresh parsley at the end, wonderful! Serve with rice. Low calories.
I use my turmeric mainly in Bobotie - a South African dish made with minced meat, some dried fruits & tomato, topped with egg milk mix - look it up on foodgawker.com. Although I do not think I will make it for a while due to a bit higher calorie count!
But Turmeric is also good to add to the water with rice for nice fragrance and color.

Paprika Is awesome! I love it with avocados in a guacamole or on chicken, pasta, rice, eggs, tomato sauce, etc. Turmeric I just add to curries so far but I'm sure there are lots of ways.0

I have eggs fried or scrambled every morning and sprinkle with tumeric while cooking and dust roast or stewing beef with rub of paprika, tumeric, pepper, garlic powder before browning. Also have curry and tandoori mixes I use in a chicken curry.0

I use Smoked Paprika on EVERYTHING savory. Seriously. Everything. Yum.
Turmeric just makes things look golden. I can't really taste it unless there's too much. Then it tastes how a bandaid smells. Bleh.0 -
So many great ideas here! Thank you for the replies :happy:0

I cook diced onions, green, yellow and red bell peppers with salt and fresh turmeric on the stovetop with a little bit of olive oil. Then I add HOT (spicy) sausage, or chorizo, to the pan and let it cook. On a second burner I cook a little over a cup of rice. When the rice is done, I add it to the pan of cooked peppers and sausage. It may not be 100% healthy, but it is very flavorful and freezes well for leftovers!0

I add turmeric and ginger to my smoothies. YUM.
I also sprinkle turmeric on avocados and eggs.0 -
I only ever use tumeric in curries or Moroccan-style dishes. I'll use paprika on many meat or bean dishes, whenever it seems to go with what I'm cooking.0

Turmeric is good in rice and also in baking (e.g. cakes, sweetbreads).
Paprika, you can use it pretty much anywhere where you would use pepper.0
