Hi, my name is Tiffany. I am a type 2 diabetic & I don't control my sugar very often, my doctor told me to download this app to help my diet and see if it could help me eat better and gain some weight. It would be awesome if I could make some friends on here! I'm new to this calorie thing. Not sure how it works. Anyone that has been doing this could give me some ideas and tips that would be great!(:

Hi Tiffany Welcome to MFP!
Yep, you most certainly want to get on top of your diet sooner rather than later. How much weight are you looking at gaining? Did your doctor give you some advice on what how to set up your macros?

I'm prediabetic and chose to follow Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution book, to control my blood glucose levels. It focuses on a low carb high fat diet, which works very well for most diabetics. If you are interested in trying it, it involves eating fewer carbs (grains, flour based foods, sugars and starches) and more fats (cheese, butter, coconut avocado, meats, etc).

Yes I'm diabetic too after being in denial for a few years. My endocrinologist recommended MFP. If I can help let me know. Most type 2 diabetics are overweight so I was curious about you being underweight.0
