Losing weight can be a struggle with depression due to not only dealing with the external factors of weightloss, but the internal ones as well. Don't beat yourself up over a bad day. As someone that suffers from depression, anxiety, and technically bipolar, I know it can be hard to overcome those thoughts. But you can do it.

Ps. Thanks for your service. It takes a strong person to do that. So you can definitely achieve your goals by giving that same dedication. Definitely don't hesitate to add me if you'd like.

I do. I've suffered from it just about every year since my junior year of high school. I've never used it as an excuse to stop myself from pursing my fitness/weight loss goals though. Those dark times can sometimes be the best eye openers. You sometimes come out of it fighting with a purpose. Find your purpose, don't allow your mind to wander and stop you from achieving. There's a light at the end of the tunnel, you just have to continue to fight.

I am NOT a victim or bystander of depression.

I am a SURVIVOR of depression.

What part of VA are ya from? I'm from Hardy- in Frankin Co. Am now living in Queensland Australia and continue to struggle with what I call plane days where I could see myself just leaving on a jet plane- no kids, hubby or pets or people who hate America. I know it's all easier said than done but if you can find some activity you enjoy, it makes those arguments in your head just that much easier to win. Mine is swimming. Thankfully I get about 7 months of it before the pool shuts and then I really struggle.... you can add me if you wanna. I fall in and out some but I seem to always come back. Good luck! PS if you're unsure about anything, just ask. The people here will help all they can!

No, no they really won't. Speaking as someone who deals with clinical depression, doesn't matter how good a result I get from what I'm doing, I can only see the negative. Granted, everyone experiences depression differently, but just doing good at something isn't enough to 'cure' it.

OP: do you mind if I ask what treatments you're under right now?
