low carb and pregnant

I am trying to stay low carb and all but I'm not counting calories anymore as I just found out yesterday that I am pregnant. What guidelines should I follow? I don't have a doctor yet as it is the weekend and tomorrow I will call around. I plan on talking to my doctor as soon as I can.

Eat nutrient dense foods, don't sweat low carb. Wait for doctor's advice.0

I think they don't recommend ketosis while pregnant, but staying low carb is still great! If I remember correctly, my doctor wanted me to eat in the 50-100g of carbs from fruits and veggies....then even more in the third trimester!0

I agree.
Don't worry about low carb right now. Just worry about eating a well balanced, nutrient dense foods for now.0 -

Talk to your dr.
As for counting calories, actually it might be a good idea. There is no reason not to count calories when pregnant, it is even recommended when you are high risk for certain complications, like gestational diabetes. Just choose a goal around maintenance to begin with.0 -
Unless you are diabetic, there is no good reason for you to go low carb. Get a calorie goal from your doctor, and stick with it by eating nutrient-dense foods. Your baby needs all the good nutrients he/she can get, and there is a lot of good nutrition in some complex carbohydrates.0
