I Need Help with Sugar!!!

Hey! So I am ready to change my life by taking 100 days off of overtly sugary food like candy and cupcakes. I started up a group because I know my odds of actually doing this crazy-hard thing will be way higher if I have people cheering me on (and people to cheer for too!). I'd love if anyone else who struggles with sugar wanted to join. Good luck to you all.

Stick to your calorie allowance first by weighing and measuring your food and then worry about what it is comprised of as a second step.

I eat loads of things which would horrify other people including fast food and sugar. I skip regular meals for puddings. I have whole days of eating at McDonalds and nothing else.

I do however, take account of every calorie and continue to lose weight (11kg so far since April).

The other thing that happens, I find, is that after a few weeks of tons of sugar and fast food, I crave vegetables. I long for them. Today all I want is pumpkin, spinach and water. After the veggies I will probably cycle back to something moderate in the middle. For a while.

You don't have to be as over the top as me, but I would caution against banning things. Different approaches work for different people though, so experiment and see what works best.

    Good luck!

Good morning! Have you ever considered low carb? That helps me, not only with weight but the fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis have stayed in remission. Sugar really is my enemy. Do some research, check out the low carb daily forum. Great bunch, as most of the people are on MFP. Just a suggestion

    Good Morning,
Have you tried using stevia as a subsitute? I also battle with sugar and had to make changes since I was moving into the type 2 diabetes range. It's takes a moment to get use to stevia and I only use a little its the best solution for me right now.

I've been mostly sugar free (less than 5g per day) for a few months on a LCHF diet. It really can make a big difference for some people. I wish you luck. :)
