20 lbs in 3 weeks isn't a very reasonable goal. You're just setting yourself up for major disappointment.

the most you should be able to lose at a healthy rate (and only if you have a LOT to lose) would be 2 pounds per week which means at most in 3 weeks you would lose 6 pounds... not 20... if you only have 20 pounds to lose total, then losing that in 3 weeks is not possible.

It's not going to happen, unfortunately. Aim for 4-5 pounds at most, then work on the rest afterwards.

Your profile says you have 73lbs to go . . . so I believe it's safe to assume that you have a lot of weight to lose. Even for those who are morbidly obese, it is recommended to not lose any more than 2lbs/week (of course those on strict medical diets being monitored would be a different story).

If you want long term success, short term big losses are setting you up for failure and disappointment. Slow and steady wins the race. I started at 340lbs, down to 255 lbs and have about 80 more to go. Not easy, but I will get there. I didn't do it over night, and you won't either.

Unfortunately, they are right that much weight will not fall off in three weeks. My birthday is 11/13 .I wish I could lose a lot of weight by my birthday, I know it's not going to happen. I will focus on small goals to me my big goal. Good luck :)
