Hello

Well this marks the first day of change in my eating habits and lifestyle. I'm hoping that I don't fall into temptation and go on a sugar high and eat the nearest delicious (but not healthy) foods nearby. Going to be hard with Halloween a few days away.
On another note, I'm still getting accustomed to this site so I just want to take the time to say hi. so hi! If there is any advice you can offer or any recipes you can share please do. I look forward to hearing from you.

I have found it easier and more sustaining to cut my habits one at a time, instead of going cold turkey and ending them all at once. It has helped me stick to my plan long term.

Hi and welcome. I'm not new to the sight but I am to posting. Like me you need to have a game plan for when you do fall to temptation. I take a 12 hour window on Halloween to eat and drink whatever I desire. Then I get back to business first thing the next morning. This is my plan and I stick to it. With no plan I will eat a fun size snickers, moments later raid my kids trick or treat bag then get mad at myself followed by depression and irrational behavior and after 2 weeks of angry binge eating come to my senses.
    Need a game plan!!

Jewsttster and Jimbosrugers thank you for the advice. It makes sense to take it slow when cutting back on the things I love to eat. I guess I was concerned that if i didn't cut back right away i would keep gravitating towards high sugar items that aren't healthy or safe for me to eat.
The game plan is a good idea. I know this site allows us to track sugar and calorie intake so I might make sure i'm careful to eat a reasonable amount of proteins and limited starches so that I have room to eat some candy.
