I have hit a platue ......I know ....its normal...I am doing a 3 day fast of sorts....water...tea...and juicing some. (Tmi for guys) but I dedicated the next three days for this....made a plan and menus last night....started off strong this am....then my "friend" showed up early... Still on track but a little worried...craving can be brutal about now !

If you know it's normal, why are you avoiding solid food?

#1. I enjoy juicing and believe it is a good detox
#2. Doesn't hurt at all to re-boot now and then
#3. It generally helps get me past a platue (which it does for many people)

Next time start this right after your period so you have a full month before you "platue".

Why are water, tea, and juice TMI for guys?

    What are you detoxing from?

What plateau are you talking about? It is impossible to plateau, weight loss -wise, after just 19.5 hours.

Are your periods usually irregular? If not, you might want to take a closer look at your overall diet.

As for your reasons for juicing:
    -juicing doesn't remove any toxins
-if it is affecting your period, a re-boot may indeed hurt
-you would also get past a plateau by eating the proper amount of solid foods

I'm unclear about the purpose of this thread. If yoy want tips on your plateau, very few people would suggest fasting or juicing as a remedy. If you want help with your willpower in your fast, I'm sure you realize that most people on these forums would suggest not fasting and enjoying some food with your friend instead. If you're just posting, then maybe your blog or personal wall would be more suitable.

Either way, good luck reaching your goals.

I'm not at a platue after 19.5 hours...I've been fasting that long

Let's see toxins and junk out of my system.... If I have to name you one u have no clue about nutrition

I am not here looking for advise...I didn't see "advise on nutrition " when I clicked here...

And MANY MANY people would agree with fasting for 3 days to re-boot your system

The TMI was about my PERIOD!

Maybe I should just draw pictures

Our bodies don't "reboot." That's not quite how it works. Eating a very low calorie diet, especially when you are at chance for low iron anyway, is a terribly unsafe idea. You should at least be meeting your calorie goals. 72 hours of fasting is unnecessary. Besides, if your kidneys and liver weren't removing the toxins, you'd be dead.

Many people also think that vaccines cause autism, but that doesn't make it true.

Dianne.. I appreciate the link...and I did read it, I just don't happen to agree with it. Fasting every once and a while is something I so that helps me...just like some people count carbs and not calories...some people calories and not fat or sugar...I also do not believe in starvation mode....just as you can show me a article on fasting as a negative I can show you one as a positive. I personally feel good when I take a break from solids and only juice and drink water for a couple days...I don't do it to lose rapid weight...I am losing at a very healthy rate...I do it because it makes me feel good and when coming off a fast it helps me get in a good mind set as to why I started my lifestyle change.

Seriously didn't ever think I would get jumped on for something like this...now I remember why I don't like "support forums" EVERYONE else think they have the answer

Sometimes the most supportive thing people can do is point out misinformation. People aren't just replying to you, they are replying to every person who will read this thread thinking that they need to 'detox' or 'reboot'.

    Still waiting on those toxins.

Actually, I asked a question about the regularity of your period, which you chose to ignore.

Several people have also asked which toxins you are trying to remove, which you also ignored.

So, basically, you are the one here acting like you have all of the answers, despite originally posting because you did NOT feel like you had all of the answers.

You actually didn't ask any questions about anything, which is why @diannethegeek was saying that people didn't understand the point of the original post.

It's extremely frustrating that us people who have no clue about nutrition must beg for the enlightenment of the juicing elitists. I am in terrible fear of the toxins that must not be named that must be swarming my defenseless body. Does juicing make the elites so hangry they wish the death upon us?

Edited to fix an improperly placed subordinate clause...

The support forum is down the hall, this is the Food and Nutrition forum. Here, you're going to get advice. I don't think you're hurting yourself by juicing, I just don't think it's necessary, especially when your body needs extra nutrients because it's bleeding. But hey, if you enjoy it (although this post doesn't make it sound very fun) then go for it!

While I don't think most people will do major harm to themselves doing a 3-day juice fast, it really isn't the healthiest thing to do. You deprive yourself of nutrients and run the risk of diarrhea.

But during a period, yikes! Your body needs food, vitamins, minerals. That's why it's asking for them. It needs more than normal, not less. From a natural perspective, you might want to follow your body's messages and eat something during your period. Save the juice fast for next week or the week after.

The juice isn't going anywhere, you know? You can give your body what it's wants and needs and do the fast later.

Good luck with whatever you decide. :)

Do your children tell you that "if you don't know, I'm not telling you" and expect that to fly?
