Huge veins in my arms/hands after major weight loss

I've lost 75 pounds and roughly 30% of my body weight. Now I've got really veiny arms (forearms) and hands.

Anyone else? Why? Doesn't bother me, just so odd.

the more you move, the more blood needs to reach your muscles. means youre getting stronger.

My hands were like that before I became obese. When I was obese there was a layer of fat and they couldn't be seen. Now that I'm thin* again, they are back to being able to be seen. I have always found it amusing.

*I say thin, because I don't consider myself "fit" and I do wear a US size 4 (which I think most people consider that to be thin). I'm still working on the looking fit part.

Less padding between your skin and the veins underneath? I'm really pale and I noticed the other day that I can see the ones on the top of my thighs way more now. They don't stick up or anything, so idk if its the same as what you're saying.

They aren't huge, they're normal sized. You just think they look huge because you can see them. Before they were covered by unhealthy adipose. I can see mine too. I couldn't see them very well at all when I was 100 pounds heavier. Congratulations on your weight loss and just think of them as one more benefit that you can see!

The ones that I can see in my forearms don't stick up. My hands however sometimes do and it's just always been that way for me when I'm at a healthy weight. When they stick up, I tend to poke them. I'm seriously amused by them. Always have been.

My younger brother has the same thing. Not sure about the rest of the family, because either they don't live near me or they are overweight/obese.

Same. Back of my hand is like road map and one big vein down my arm like 1cm across.

I poke at my husband's hand veins. It is amusing to me too, lol. I don't have any that do that now, but maybe someday. ;)

Mine aren't just visible, they're elevated. Like mini hoses. So weird.! Glad I'm not alone.

I do the same when people show me bruises.

If you get your body fat percentage low enough don't you end up with veins across your abs?

I have veins sticking up in my forearms, one baby vein in my bicep, and veins on my lower abdomen now. I like them a lot.

I'm glad I found this thread - my arms are starting to look like Old Madonna. I don't want to gain back the weight but it's new to me so a little odd. I also feel like there are some circulation issues, however. Wondering if that could be something to worry about...
