Hi from a newbie!

Hello everyone. I'm new to myfitnesspal, and of course, to these message boards. My daughter sent me a friend invite, and I'm slowly learning my way around. I have a past history with Weight Watchers, and with using SparkPeople, but it's nice to have DD as a friend here, so now I am learning my way around a new site. I'm in my mid 50s, a vegetarian for 22 years and vegan the last 9 of those (no, we aren't all skinny), live in So. Cal. and am in the early stages of divorcing my husband of 31 years. I was, at one time, a runner, then my knees decided I wasn't going to run anymore. My current goal is to lose enough weight to try running again, this time with a body that doesn't stress my knees as much.

    Welcome! I am going towards the same goal, I LOVE to run but my knees are not welling to let me either. I have been using the eliptical in hopes to get at least 25 pounds off. Good luck to you on your journey!
