Where does everyone stand on the "lets get you straightened out" theory by chiropractors.

I mean I leave after getting adjusted like a million bucks. I went yesterday and will go for maybe 5-10 visits and hten hopefully just to get straighten out every once and again.

I've had back issues since last Fall, and the chiropractor is the only thing that has given me any pain relief. But, it didn't last long.

I'm not sure if I didn't give it enough of a chance or if it's just a temporary fix. :ohwell:

    Good luck, either way! :flowerforyou:

After my car accident (long story) the chiropractor is the only "medical" intervention that allowed me to walk again, stand straight, and release a ton of tension. I love chirporactors -- but only good ones.

I love my Chiro. I do a couple of visits and Im in good shape for awhile. Its not going to make you perfect for ever, but its great for awhile.
I go every few months as needed. It also helps when I get headaches (which a visit is in the near future)

I have been several times over the years for lower back problems and have always been fixed up with only a couple visits.

So I think everyone feels the same way as me. Do anything you can to fix your own issues, weight management, stretching, fintess and go to a chiro for a little maintanence to get you stgraightened out

    Nice

I'm a chiropractic student due to a disc prolapse with left me unable to sit in a seat. The NHS told me I'd need an operation but the chiropractor sorted me out, so I left the uni I was at at the time and moved to Wales to study Chiropractic. I'm now in my final year.

It's good to hear so many good things about chiropractic from you guys - but you are spot on. There are so many chiropractors out there who practise different techniques so it's important to find one that works! (I know the technique I'm learning at uni is not going to be the one I use in practise!)

In saying that, chiropractic isn't everything. The body has to deal with physical, emotional and chemical stress. Chiropractic can deal with the physical, but the emotional and mental must also be considered and by being here and watching what you eat will help that massively! :D Real natural food and chiropractic is what it's all about!

I don't discount the benefits of a Chirpractor...or Naturopath...or any other discipline actually.

What I do take exception with is the narrow minded focus of some practitioners...in every practice.

Dieticians think everything can be corrected through diet.

Chiropractors think every pain can be remedied through spinal adjustments.

    Acupuncturists through acupuncture.

    Surgeons through surgery.

    etc.

    etc.

    etc.

Various maladies are best treated through the application of various modalities. Getting a Health professional to admit that another discipline may be better for you than their own practice is rare. Getting your insurance carrier to recognize this is virtually non-existent.

Excuse me while I go pray away my headache.

First off I am very thankful that I dont have any back problems. I do think that Chiros are quacks because everybody that Ive ever known that has went to one kept going back every week forever. When I get an ailment and I go to the doctor they prescribe me a medicine and said ailment goes away.
