This is just about the 100th time I sign up for MyFitnessPal and I'm really scared of giving up again.
I had an account here with the username "bionicsuperhuman" and I was doing SO GREAT on it ( lasted a month and lost a decent amount of weight) ... then Ramadan came and all my willpower - after the entire month of fasting - vanished. I don't know what happened or why !!! I'm honestly terrified of wasting anymore time. I always get rid of my accounts ( so many usernames gone) because I decide that I don't want to count calories ( I'm scared of becoming obsessed with them) but it was working SO WELL for me before Ramadan came. I just want that feeling of success again for the sake of my happiness and future. But I'm really, really scared of giving up on myself again. Please - if you have any kind of advice - any at all - I will be eternally grateful to you. If not - if you just want to slam on me for being a loser ... I'll take that, too

You don't have to count calories to lose weight. It's a fine way to lose if you want, but if it's not your thing it is 100% not necessary.
When you are counting calories, what is your goal. You look like you don't have much to lose in your profile pic. Are you making your goal too agressive? If you want to lose weight and keep it off then you need to have a plan you are comfortable with. A few small changes will probably get you where you want to me.0 -
Maybe MFP is not suppose to be a part of your journey right now....perhaps something like WW where you have other people in live action, look you in your eye and encourage you. Everything is not for everybody all the time. I joined WW 10 years ago, and lost 45+ pounds. I was about to sign up again when I found MFP. It is working for me right now.
Ask yourself this... How do you accomplish other things in your life? What is your approach to school work, housework, paying your bills, keeping your car clean, etc. do you quit on those things too, or is it just food or accountability that's a problem? I believe in this saying...how you do you in one area of your life, is how you do you in other areas of your life.
You can do anything you put your mind to. You were once a baby crawling all the time....but as the toddler you just kept at trying to walk and you did. You may have fell down hundreds of times.
In you is that seed of determination that you have to water and attend to. Nobody really can shore you up indefinitely cause when the crutches are gone, you either do it, or you don't. So make a decision. Even if it's "I'm not gonna does this right now." That's a decision. When you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, it's amazing what you set out to do.
All the best.....0 -
I think if you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything.0

I can't even begin to thank you for your replies, and I do agree with you. I'm just running over what I'm going to do right now. But thank you so much.0

This app/site should be a place you can find support! hope it turns out that way for you! Everyone gets de-motivated logging their food and exercising sometimes. I'm usually good for a month, then slack for a week or two. Then I'm good for two months, then slack for another week or two..so overall I'm making progress? haha I guess just try to look at the big picture and try your best is what I'm saying.0
