I think both would be in your healthy BMI range so you gotta do whats right for your self. The weight that you feel the best is right, not what strangers think.

I'm 5'7 and was nice and skinny and felt great about myself at 155. Ribs and hip bones showed. So for me that's what I'm aiming for but I'm big boned so it depends on you :)

No way we can know! It depends on your bone structure, amount of muscle, etc.

You have to decide how you wish to look. If it makes you happy, that's all that matters. If you're ever feel like you're not sure and worry that your goal is too high or low, ask the doctor if your weight is a healthy one.

This Ideal Weight Calculator takes your wrist size / frame into account:

Bear in mind that some people have unusually small/large wrists, but I think the calculator is pretty accurate for me.

    Totally, Totally up to you!

I'm 5'2 - and I 'came up' with my goal weight based on what other girls of similar height were on the 'maintenance thread'. Big mistake. Many of these girls are maintaining at around 105 lbs and for ME that is just not realistic. I'm looking to gain muscle so realistically, being this size isn't going to work for me. I entered maintenance at around 125 lbs. I'm around 123 now purely because of the transition period but I'm happy here.

I'd say see how you feel as you go along. You may get to 143 and think "This is where I am happy" - it may even be higher. It may be lower. You really won't know until you get there. I'd suggest aiming for individual goal weights as re-assessing when you get to each one :)

There's no need to pick an absolute number right now because, until you get close, it is arbitrary . Aim for the top of the healthy range for your height and then after that keep go I ng until you're happy with what you see in the mirror.

As the others wrote, it depends on your body.

I am 5'6 and at 135 I looked chubby, maybe not fat, but definitely not thin. I see pictures of women here that, at the same height, look amazing even at 155.

I gave myself a goal weight which is +/- 15 pounds because if I decide to gain muscle and do more fitness I'd look better being a bit heavier and maintain. But take into account where you carry the most weight and what you want to achieve

I'm also 5'7". I remember being 135, and it would be amazing if I could get back to that. I also remember being 150 and that would be great too. I decided to put 135 in MFP for my goal weight. Why not try for the greater amount lost? As I get closer, I'll see how I feel and how hard it it to keep losing/maintain. If you're just looking for a weight to put into MFP, it doesn't matter, just pick one. Hope that helps.

At first I didn't have a goal weight. After the first half stone lost, I estimated where I would like to be. Turns out I settled a little below that (around 122-123lbs at 5'6), probably because I exercise more intensely now.
