I LOVE THESE! So convenient, so yummy! But so expensive!

I've been making smoothies for years, but now I'm a grown up with an 8-5, so the easier the better!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to replicate these little bags of heaven? My plan is to buy various frozen fruit and separate it into Ziploc baggies with bits of frozen yogurt so that all I have to do is take 'em out and add Light Vanilla Soy Milk (my most recent and awesome discovery) or whatever else. Also, I'd like to freeze bananas because they don't already come frozen (bless the frozen fruit makers) and I'd also like to freeze little chunks of yogurt. Maybe in an ice cube tray? I've frozen sliced bananas before, which was horrible because they all got stuck together. I read that if you lay them all out on a cookie sheet and then put them in a bag after they've frozen, that helps a bit. But for some reason, even if they're frozen, they get kinda gross after a while and seem like they still brown a little bit, and then you get that nasty banana after taste

Does anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks so much!

I have yet to master the "freezing your own banana" trick. But, I do (on occasion) buy frpzen or fresh fruit and freeze it into individual servings. Also, I often use ice cube trays to freeze pureed fruit and veggies (I'm really into sneaking healthy stuff into recipes lol. It works excellently, I measured it once and the average ice cube tray holds about 1/4 cup per cube. However with my crazy schedule I usually do just opt for the premade packs like Yoplait and then add my own refridgerated Greek yogurt and protein and whatnot.
  • Another alternative to banana is avacado in smoothies. use 1/4 - 1/2 of a medium avacado, it gives a super yummy smooth flavor. I don't know if you could freeze it, it would probably have some color changes.

I have a smoothie everyday for breakfast. I don't use any ice. I just use a cup of frozen fruit. Whatever I feel like that day. And I use half or a whole scoop of vanilla or chocolate whey protein. And 8 ounces of unsweetened almond milk.

I freeze my bananas - I cut them in 1/3s and wrap them in saran wrap. Helps stop them from browning. :)
