I'm ashamed of myself.

I got out of the army and was put on new medication gained 50 lbs due to meds, divorce, and mom and grandma's death with in 3 months. I was able to get back down to 174 and I quit smoking. Noveber 4th will be my year anniversary. I ate out of boredom and food tasting better. I'm now 227 and finally saying enough is enough. I would like support and in return I will give you my support.

    Its funny how life can kick your *kitten* at times. I gained a ton after quitting smoking and then had a couple of kids. I've lost the kid weight but I've been working on the quitting smoking weight for like ever. I need to lose 45 more lbs and I know what I need to do. I'm just struggling with willpower.

    You have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Many people would have crumbled in your shoes, but here you still stand ready to try again. Thats guts lady. Add me if you'd like a friend. We all have to have someone watching our backs.

    Be angry at your pounds, imagine melting them. I was pinching my belly fat in front of mirror and saying "you'll be gone baby, you've been there for decades, but you'll be gone". Every Monday morning when I measured myself I felt new energy and strength, it's like an unstoppable momentum. Say to yourself "enough", make a goal, deadline and plan how to get there.

    Hey! Completely understand. I was misdiagnosed and put on the wrong meds forever. I started sleep eating on Seroquil and gained 50 and then another 50 on sapphris. I've been on MFP for the second time now and it's been about five weeks and I've been incredibly successful. Everything kind of gets squared away in life when we focus on doing the next right thing, meaning we just do what's in front of us that we know we need to do. Honestly, I was really shaken up about my life the last time I tried. I lost 15 pounds and quit, I gained it back plus some. Don't do what I did. I shamed myself, set unnatainable goals and binge ate and didn't log. Take it easy, set small attainable goals and reward yourself. You deserve it. Do it to become the best you. Shame is unproductive, accept love and give love and push away shame. We're all in the same boat. Let us all help. I'm sending a friend request.

    Apart from the army bit, my recent life echoes that of the OP. I went thru divorce, mums death and another tragic event. In 3 years I ballooned thru stress, comfort eating and depression. My diabetes kicked in hard and my belly seems to have its own timezone. Life will not only kick you hard but drag you thru thorny bushes naked.

    I'm determined to lose the weight, don't get fat, get even!

    I felt the same at first before I started weight loss, felt so ashamed of myself didn't want to admit to myself let alone others how much I weighed but once you get going it doesn't seem so bad when people start to notice the weight dropping off it'll all be worth it. Feel free to add me
