It does sound low. Try setting your weekly loss a little lower. I'm at 1240 but I'm 5'1" and 125 pounds, and that puts me at about a .25 loss per week.0

What is your weekly goal set to? 2lb a week?
Maybe your being too aggressive?0 -
Yes its at 2lbs but i have over 100 lbs to lose0
-
You could try it for a month and see how it goes. If it is not working for you for one reason or another, make an adjustment ... maybe set yourself to lose 1 lb/week instead.
Or start with 1 lb/week for the next month, then reassess the situation.0 -

Maybe give it a go and after a month adjust it based on actual results.
It might be too low and you lose 3-4 pounds a week, so you need to increase you calories.
Or maybe set it to 1 pound a week at first, and adjust after a month.
But still it does seem low. Maybe recheck all your settings in mfp, activity level etc0 -
I have been eating like this since August 11 2015 sometimes i dont get all of the 1240 but i feel fine and i am not hungry0

Are you getting any exercise? MFP is designed to add back in your exercise calories, not to eat at a static number all of the time.0

Try not to drop below 1200. It's less about feeling hungry and more about adequate nutrition. Such as getting enough fats and proteins.
So in September how much did you lose each week?0 -
Im walking most days around 10000 steps and have lost 39 lbs so far0
-
I have over 100 pounds to lose and I have mine set at losing 1.5 pounds and it gives me 1370 or so calories before exercise. My personal goal is to hit that sweet spot between 1200 and 1370 daily.0

Yes about. 11 weeks since August 110

I have an appt. with my dietition on november 18 hopefully she can give me the right calories to eat. Im just wanting to do it right.0

That's like 3.4 pounds a week.
Let's assume the first few weeks were high because of water weight and go with 3 pounds a week on average.
Your goal is 2 pounds a week.
I would suggest eating an extra 500 calories a day. You said you were eating 1240 or less.
Try 1600-1700 a day instead.0 -

+1
And again, try it for a month and see what happens. You can always reassess and readjust as necessary.

You've set your activity to sedentary I bet
And then you're walking 10000 steps which isn't sedentary and probably burns up, at your weight, another 500-600 calories per day which you should be eating
So rather than grossing 1240 you should be grossing 1740-1840
It's how MFP is set up
You've just not been following it properly
Good luck0 -
Sounds a little aggressive.0

I am not far off from you at 253 and I tried to do the 2 pound a week goal, which for me was 1270. I wasn't losing all that great, so I changed my goal to 1.5 pounds a week and I have to say, I feel much better and the scale has started moving again. I don't have enough info to debate "why" this happened, but I am now in the camp that the 2 pound a week goal is a little aggressive, even if you have a lot to lose.
Maybe try to add an extra 200 or 300 calories to your day for a short time and see what happens. If it were me, I would even journal any changes I find during the process so that you can look for possible trends. No harm in trying.
Also, we did not get to these weights by eating less than 1250 calories. So, the ability is there to eat more cals during the day. Don't restrict yourself unnecessarily.0 -
