Not that others don't inspire me you all do but I have at least 100 lbs to loose and I am fast approaching 50. I would love to hear from those with 50-100 lbs loss and keeping it off so I will be encouraged for the long haul. I am down about 18 lbs from my highest with a long road ahead taking one day at a time.

i am 46 and ihave to lose 160 lbs. i've lost 41 lbs so far. the thing to remember is it's gonna go slow at times, it's gonna take a while, and we have to be stringent. the older you get, the slower your metabolism is. we can help it along by exercising, and really pushing ourselves when exercising, and being stringent in our diet. we can do it. i have no doubt that i'll succeed. and I know that you can do it too.

that would describe me. I'll be 47 soon and since I've been on MFP, I'm down 16 lbs. The last few years I've have been up and down 25- 30 lbs. This time is it. I'm determined to get it off and keep it off. Feel free to add me as a friend. We take this journey together. :)

  • I turned 54 yrs old last month. I have been working on losing weight for a long time. I have lost 31 lbs that I know of to date. I know it took a lot of years to put this weight on. That is the only thing that keeps me from getting frustrated too often.

When I started this journey I was at 289 lbs and I am only 5'5". I call myself "Thick and Lovely"
As a grandmother of 5 I want to be able to run with my grandchildren. But I have battled with Asthma ALL my life.

I still have 75 lbs to get to my goal weight. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day, and the longer it takes to come off the easier it is to STAY off.

We are NOT dieting, we are modifying our lifestyles.

Be blessed in your endeavors ladies. IT WILL HAPPEN!!!!

Hi there - I'm 50 and still have 110 lbs to lose. I've lost 25 since joining MFP. The support I get here really helps.

I am 54 and on July 21 2010 I weighed 247 pounds. Since then I have lost 99 pounds with MFP's help and with the support of my family, Both my MFP family and my related family. It all hinges on realizing that this is a long term goal and by putting one foot in front of the other and one day at a time the weight will come off. there are set backs but as long as you don't beat your self up YOU CAN do this.
I have lots of reasons (excuses) just like everyone else. I have an underactive thyroid, I'm over 50, I'm not fit, I have a sedentary job, I'm to busy (I take care of my elderly father and handicaped brother) so on and so on. But in the end you just have to realize that you are worth this and it is your health and life at stake.
