I am curious as to what a healthy body fat percentage is for myself. I have looked for information online and found a wide range of information. I am know that I am now in the "healthy BMI" range but was curious to know if my current body fat percentage is considered healthy and if so where I fall in that range. Does anyone have a information on what a healthy body fat percentage would be?
Thanks much!

I'd like to drop another 10-15 pounds to put myself right smack in a healthy BMI range...but I would also like to lower my body fat percentage. I know I am not good at math...but still...can't figure out how the heck to figure a so called "healthy weight and healthy body fat percentage" for myself. Anyone who can help:
My current stats:
5'8
current weight: 170 lbs.
goal weight: 155-160 lbs.
current body fat %: 25%
goal body fat %: not sure...maybe 20-22%
anyone wanna help me figure this out, feel free0 -

Hrm, according to the math, I have 6-7 more pounds to lose instead of 13-15. I've been building a lot of muscle lately but this seems off to me.0

Oddly enough, I just posted a review this afternoon on a body fat analyzer I picked up. I included a chart and a link to the US Navy method of measuring body fat as well.

Hi,
I am a 57 year old female, post THR. I have lost 27 lbs. over the past 8 mos., with the help of a personal trainer, this website, a Polar heart monitor and a fair amount of self-discipline. I am currently 1 lb. from my second goal of 145. I am now turning my focus to my fat percentage. According to my Tanita duo scale, my body fat is 36.7% However, according to Health Calcs, it is 30.8%. I don't know which is more accurate. I do tend to store fat around my waist, which I understand is not healthy. According to the charts, my ideal weight is 128, which I think is unattainable. I am quite happy being a size 8-10. I am thinking I would like to get down to 137, but I wonder if this would be enough to get my body fat down to a healthy level. Can someone tell me what would be a health body fat % for me, and suggest how I should modify my fitness plan to get there? I presently do interval training with an elliptical 3-4 days a week, with a kettlebell for 45 min., plus a fair amount of gardening and walking on the off days. My calorie goal is 1350/day. I did seem to plateau for a few weeks, but recently seem to be losing again. Thanks for your suggestions.0
