I have and know a lot of others with the Polar FT4,.....never leave home without it0
-
I second this question, I was at work today looking for a good monitoring watch, I don't really know how many calories I'm burning at the gym (I only put in what the treadmill tells me)0
-
I love my Polar FT4 and the Polar FT7 has even more features, so totally go for it!0
-
Love Love Love my Polar FT7! Best workout investment I ever could have made.. super easy to set up and use. The chest strap is comfortable and I have had no issues with it yet.
The Polar FT4 is also very good... so really you can't go wrong with either.0 -
Absolutely love mine. Doesn't work in a pool though.0

I like mine very much. It does everything I need it to. Times how long I have it on, what my heart rate is during it (highs and lows) and how many calories I burned during the session. It has a few other things like it tracks many many workouts (I have used it probably 4 times a week since Jan and it shows every one since Feb - they are just now starting to delete themselves)
It is comfortable and has worked well for me. Only 1 day was it going wacky, and that is because I did not wash it correctly after every use, which is just rinsing it off.
It was well worth the $85 I spent. Bought it through Amazon.0 -
I have the ft7 i love it! Its easy to use and has never let me down. Easy to change your weight to get an accurate count. love it... did I mention I love it?0

how accurate are you guys finding your Polar HRMs? with calories burned and everything?0
-
Absolutely love mine. Doesn't work in a pool though.
Mine works in the pool!0 -
I have a Polar FT7 and love it!!!0
-
I like mine. It's pretty simple to use and has more memory storage than the FT4, I believe.0
-
LOVE it. I did a lot of research before I bought mine and it is awesome. Soo easy to use! You won't be disappointed!0

it actually does work in a pool but you can't use the watch underwater.0 -
I have the FT7 and I love it!! I've only had it for about a month, but I'm so glad I got it because the exercise calculations I was getting here and on the machines were off by 200-300 calories!
I've heard the FT4 is good too, I'm not sure what the differences are between the two, but I think you can compare them on the polar site.0 -
I have the FT4 and it's my bestttt friend ) lol
Polar from what Ive read is very accurate and reliable!
And on my birthday a lil cake appeared on the face of the watch0 -

I find it to be way more accurate then the Timex that I used for like a day before returning. When i was first investigating these things all I heard was buy a Polar, buy a Polar. I'm really glad I did because the calorie count is spot on... or at least as accurate as you can get since nothing is perfect.0 -
I love mine too! It is definately eye-opening about the difference in the calorie burn vs. the machines at the gym. Also, I wanted to do other things away from the gym and wanted to be able to estimate my calorie burn a little more accurately.0

Usually the numbers I enter are within 40 calories over/under what MFP states I would burn, so I feel it is accurate. It is also very consistent.0 -

this but it depends on the chlorine content of the pool. If it is high in chlorine as the manual states it will not register your heart rate.0 -
I got mine last week and love it!!0
-
Bought my Polar FT6 this last week and love love love it. I have been so way off on my caloires burned by using what was already estimated on MFP. Now I know what I'm really burning and that I have to kick it up. Several of my friends have Polar's and recommended them.0

I LOVE my FT7. The FT4 is also very good but I went with the FT7 mainly because you can change the battery yourself in the FT7. In the FT4 you have to send it to Polar and they will do it for you. Either way, depending on your price range and needs, they are both awesome!! So glad I got mine, there were definitely descrepincies in what the treadmill (and MFP for other excercise) was telling me and what i was actually burning according to the HRM0

What if you drink the pool water? Think it would help?0 -

This was the deciding factor in why I chose the FT7 over the 4.0 -

I love my FT7, and swim with it quite a bit (water aerobics). I use the transmitter and watch together, I have not had any issues. I do find that it works best when you follow the recommendation and wash the chest strap (without the taransmitter) every 5-7 workouts. If I don't wash mine for 2 weeks it starts giving me really crazy heart rate patterns.0 -
I love my Polar FT7. It's a really great investment. For me, it showed me a big difference in the calories estimations vs. actual calories burned. I like it because now I know I'm accurate. I don't always eat all my exercise calories back but when I do I want to know I'm not going over. Features are great and super easy to use. Highly recommend.0

Only if the pool water has those little black floaty things in it. But you have to remember to add the protein to your food diary as well.0 -
I have the FT7...and while I have chosen to lose the next 6 lbs WITHOUT an HRM, I STRONGLY recommend getting one...I have even had to reach out to Polar for support and they were prompt and helpful! I would recommend getting a warranty with any device you purchase..you WILL use this device, and its always good to be able to get it repaired...0

Ooops I lied. Mine is a FT7 not 6. DUH!!0
