Greater Seattle/Bellevue Gym Buddies/Support

Hey everyone,

I am in need of a gym buddy or many buddies or just some support in trying to achieve my goal.

Since Dec. 2012, I have been what people call a gym rat. I had so much drive, motivation, energy, and my fitness goal was my life. I would typically hit the gym for a minimum of 6 hours and over the years, I increased my gym time to a comfortable 8-12 hours a day. I would track my calorie intake, weight my food, etc.

Over time, I developed a horrible and what seemed to be a permanent plateau. This was very upsetting since I always would push myself, change exercises and machines, and even hired a few personal trainers that I would work with 1-3 times a week.

Everything was going great until my last trainer started training me in the completely wrong way and I started going in the opposite direction of my goal, (which is to lose weight and get a long, lean, softy toned body). After a couple months of training, I started to look more like a female hulk! Yikes!

The only way I could think to lose the bulky muscle was to stop my training and just take some time off from the gym. It seemed to work perfectly for 4 months. I was gradually losing the (expensive), unwanted bulky muscle mass and looking more like what I wanted and I felt great.

My issues was... During my time off, I continued to eat like I normally would when I was in training and I quickly started to notice more and more fat on my body. (No surprise there!) I also found myself not having the time nor the motivation to go workout. I tried to track my calorie intake but that started to feel like a hassle and when I did, it would make me more upset because I felt that I would get bored at the gym before I could burn off the extra calories and leave.

So here I am... A year later, still stuffing my face with sugar, junk food, and carbs, and barely spending enough time at the gym to just burn off my breakfast.

My weight is lower than when I was training, since muscle weights more than fat, but I look a lot worse. My clothes don't look as good on me, and I just don't feel comfortable in my skin at all. My self esteem has taken a huge dive and I can barely look at myself in the mirror without getting depressed.

In a nutshell, I'm hoping to find some people who are in the same boat as I am, or have experienced this in the past and overcame it. A workout buddy would be awesome to help me get out of the kitchen/house, and into the gym or doing other activities. If anyone is in the Greater Seattle/Bellevue area, please message me! We can share stories and tips and we can accomplish our goals together!

Happy diet & exercising!

I'm in Seattle working out at LA Fitness in either The Landing in Renton or West Seattle. Let me know if you'd like to meet up. I'd love a workout partner! (My first picture is my goal.)
