So, I'm introducing myself. 34, divorced mom, 3 teens. I've gained 40 pounds in the last year. I don't know how I got here yet I know exactly why I got here. I wish I could say I'm fired up with tons of drive, but I'm not. It's rather depressing. But, I'm fired up enough to know that something has to give. I want to feel better. I really do. I just need to get over myself! Ha.
I don't know how this friends thing works but if you're upbeat and active every day lets be friend. I'm generally in a better mood than this post sounds, I'm sure.

Tips? Advice? Jokes? I'm down.

  • Hi Nikki, I would recommend the couch to 5K app. That as well as eating sensibly helped me lose a lot of weight a couple of years ago and got really fit, starting from zero. Have slipped back into bad habits so starting from scratch again. Good luck!

Thanks. :) I too have slipped back into bad habits. I am realizing that I have been focused on the wrong things. I need to shift my focus and put it back on myself. I need to reset my train of thought.

So I went to download that app and its a running app. I am under a Dr.'s care and have strict instructions not to run. Ugh. Dealing with plantar fasciitis, just had my second round of steroid injections in my feet. He said I can walk or lift weights but no running. I live in a rural area and there isn't a gym close by for weights. Tips? Heaviest thing I have at home is 10 pound dumb bells. Smallest is 2 lb.

I am going to start walking for 30 minutes each day tomorrow. It's rained all weekend.
