Hello my new fitness pals! :D My name is Mysty Ingram. I am 42 years old. 1 week ago, I packed my things and left TN, the place I had called home for 26 long years. I moved to the beautiful coast of southern Ga. I absolutely LOVE IT HERE! Not only are there a million and one things to do and see here, but the people are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! In the years leading up to now, I felt as if my life had completely stopped. I have gained 70 lbs over the past 3 years after having to undergo a hysterectomy. As any of you menopausal women out there know, once your estrogen slows or stops...you will gain weight simply by looking at the dessert cart!! To compound my problems, I am disabled from RA, Osteo Arthritis & Fibromyalgia. Carring around 70 extra pounds everyday has been torture to my poor joints, muscles, & nerves. I am in constant moderate to severe pain, so I have been almost 100% sedentary for the past 3 years.

After I moved to Ga and got settled in, I decided that I am going to "GET BUSY LIVING OR GET BUSY DYING" Through much prayer and meditation I have decided that, not only, do I want to LIVE, I want to life the most authentic life I can. While doing research tonight on exercise videos and diets, I came across this site. I believe this site will be extremely helpful to aid me in my "Battle of the Bulge"

Any & all advice, support, information, & life experience concerning weight loss and becoming healthy will be very much appreciated. I look forward to making many new friends on here

Congratulations on your new beginning, and your great sense of enthusiasm and determination. I know you can do it, because I did it. I'm post-hyst / post-menopause, and I lost 40 lbs the first year I took up training in a martial art (Aikido) that I love. That was in 2009. Now I'm training at least 5 days a week, and have added weightlifting, too. I have idiopathic peripheral neuropathy (PN) and vertigo (BPPV), and both have improved considerably with increased activity. Don't worry, there's plenty of life left in you! :-)

    Hi Mysty,

I think that somehow I can relate. I am 23 years old. I am in my early 20's feeling the aches of my ankles already. I am too young to be feeling this old. My lower back is in pain. I used to think that the epidural that I got when I gave birth to my child caused it. But I know better, I am 20 pounds heavier than after I birthed my baby.

I am NOT enjoying my life like I should. Everyday its a battle that I surrender too. I have hypothyroidism since I was little so it is a bit challenging but not an excuse. I do not want to get older and regret these years because my weight was an obstacle.

I want to live in a balance that I can enjoy. Please feel free to add me.
