Started Max 30 today...

I did the first workout from Insanity Max 30 today. When I run for 30 minutes I feel like I work harder. Am I doing it wrong?

How fast do you run? Are you running as fast as you can?. Max30 is meant to be utilized where you push as hard and fast as possible until you cannot go any further. Then you maxout0

From your comment it sounds like you are saying Max 30 is easier than running. There are tons of ways to vary the intensity of Max 30. You can do faster reps. Do lower squats and lunges. Make sure your elbows are in for push-ups or do them with your feet elevated. Switch to the red discs. Do 2 rounds. If you are doing it at maximum intensity and it's easier than running, either you are in ridiculously awesome shape, or you are a terrible runner.
I'm not in amazing shape, but I'm in pretty decent shape, and I can't even drink water on the water breaks during Max 30 because I'm too busy catching my breath.0 -

If I am running sub seven minute miles I find running harder, otherwise I find Max 30 harder. Both have a place in your workout tool bag0
