I'm new to the wheat free lifestyle and with having great success in just my first month I am committing myself to this lifestyle., so I'm debating on creating a Facebook page for those who are wheat free as well to share their experience, recipes ,and personal trial and error. Would anyone be interested in joining me? Or if there Is a page already (,other then the official one which is GREAT, but not for easy conversation with others) let me know....

Well, you could create one, but any mention of it in the forums would be a violation of the guidelines for directing users off-site, so my suggestion would be to create a group here on MFP if you want to connect with other like-minded MFP users.

Congrats on your success, I hope it continues to work well for you.

    Wheat is not The Enemy.

I heard gluten pees on the seat and doesn't return shopping carts to the cart corral.

"Quick everyone! Come with me to another web site and be my disciples. Let's not stay here on MFP"

And so the cult of Weat-free KountryGrl was born.

    :+1:

    (The "h" is silent...

    ...not absent.

Or is that where the gluten is?)

I guess the question is, why would you NOT create this group on MFP, or encourage others to join the existing one, which you say is great? I don't personally believe that anyone who doesn't have celiac disease or a related (actual, medical) gluten intolerance should avoid gluten at all, but even for those who do, there really isn't anything that you can discuss on Facebook that you can't discuss on MFP. If you want to have a FB page for that or any other reason, though, there are plenty of ways to promote and publicize that, that do not involve this forum.

I feel extremely sorry for those who suffer the agonising pains and intestinal issues associated with wheat allergies and wish you a symptom free future

OP just start a group here.

I'm a tad biased though. I love MFP, but can't stand Facebook

@kountrygrl27 congratulations. The first two weeks was the hard part for me so you should be good to go. Well I cut out all grains and most all sugars at the same time. A year later I am in better health than in 20 years.

Based on what I have since learned I think wheat was what I used to wreck my health.

Wow didn't realize that by trying to get healthy would cause so much negativity. I thought we were here to support one another not criticize I'm not forcing anything upon anyone so if you don't like my decisions on how I have chosen to get healthy then don't bother making comments. This was something recommended by my physiciann and it's actually been the only thing that has ever worked for me up to this point. The only reason I suggested Facebook was because I can get notifications there I'm not very familiar with groups through MFP since I'm primarily used it for my own personal calorie counting. I was in no way trying to take away from MFP, i just don't know discussions groups work since I've received absolutely no notifications on all the responses in this discussion. Don't understand why y'all had to be so hateful!

That you for the positive comment. Its been 5 weeks now and I'm Down 21 lbs and physically in better shape. Just trying to find other like-minded people to share recipe experiences tricks things that they have found because not all of us have been doing this for a long time I am new and I don't really know a lot so I'm just wanting to learn...

This is how discussion groups work - you will get some helpful posts, some unhelpful posts, and some snark. In this thread you did indeed get all three yet you labeled all of them as hateful. After my helpful post was lumped into hateful, I'm not inclined to show you how notifications work.
