Wanted: Accountability Partner (both in fitness and spiritually!)

Options
I am looking to get myself in shape, both mentally and physically. I just got back on to the site today and completed an entry for the first day in months! My goals are to eat healthy, increase the volume of books that I read, pray more frequently, and study the Bible nightly. Does anybody out there have the same goals? There are strength in numbers...I'm hoping we can help each other grow and be better, more productive and charitable people. I hope to get a response if this is you!

You may want to check the groups to find a religious one that meets your needs. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/groups

I have found that when I am starting to lose focus, prayer is the one thing that really helps! If I remember to ask God for help when I am struggling, I can end the day within my goals. I would love to have a friend to keep me accountable in prayer and bible study!

I intend to study the Bible and two languages M-W-F. Today is Monday and I've studied nothing. But I bought my dog new socks. Yeah, I could use some accountability help myself lol

So is it too late tonight? I have a Bible app with a verse of the day.

http://bible.com/111/psa.25.15.niv My eyes are ever on the Lord , for only he will release my feet from the snare.

This seems so appropriate when you look at it in the light of weight loss. I have been caught in a snare for most of my life and I have only just recently realized that when my focus is on God, I am free.

Check out the song Shackles by Mary Mary...it's my favorite song while I'm jogging.

God has taken the shackles off my feet, so I can dance, and jog, and control my calorie intake, and ....well, whatever... I just want to praise him!

Thanks for your encouragement. There's something inspiring about how if we could just stand together, we will both be stronger as a result!

LovLeigh - why don't we all read Philippians 1 for Tuesday? Just one chapter...that's all!

Welcome to MyFitnessPal! We have two really active groups that I think would fit your needs if you'd like to check them out:

    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/378-christian-support-group

    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/3288-we-are-made-to-crave-lets-get-fit-4-christ

I also wanted to let you all know, since MyFitnessPal does welcome users from all over the world and from all different backgrounds to the site, we do ask that discussions that are specific to one religion or that quote or discuss religious texts be kept to groups. Those topics tend to become divisive in the main forums, and we want people to be able to discuss with like-minded users without the topic becoming derailed. The two groups above would be great places for support and discussion.

    Hope you enjoy the site!

Yes, she's a forum moderator. It is a rule that topics dealing strictly with one religion in particular are not allowed.
