How do you exercise when it's freezing!

Hi there,
I knew that exercise would be the biggest challenge and so far not doing to well. I thought of walking but it's FREEZING here at the moment, winter has definitely come knocking and all I want to do is curl up with my electric blanket and socks and gloves...
How do you get out of hibernation mode!

When it is cold and winter causes me to want to hibernate is when I take my working out inside the house. I try and do a lot of videos. Right now even though it is warming up here I am doing yoga at home. It does not burn as many calories but it sure does work those muscles. Once it is done I then curl up under the blanket.0

Wow, I'm kinda jealous. It is HOT here! I'd be more than happy to send some of this heat your way!
If you do workout videos at home you will start to warm up once you get going... it is the "getting going" part that is the hardest!0 -
Exercise/walking DVD. I use Leslie Sansone Walking DVD. If you don't feel like paying, look up the fitness channel on your cable guide. Lots of free stuff on there. Look our for Jillian Michaels though, she is a beast.0

I live in Scotland, it's always freezing (or at least it feels like it). I find that the cold weather helps me keep moving, though sliding around through slush and snow and ice during a couple of walks this winter was challenging. Just remind yourself that by exercising in the cold weather, you're burning more calories because your body is working harder to stay warm (or is this another exercise myth). I'll be doing a half marathon charity power walk this coming Saturday night in Edinbrough in my bra. They are expecting temps of around 5C. I suspect I'll be walking really quickly!0

What I have found to be amazing is Wii Zumba. It is like going to a class but in your own home. The only downfall is having to have a game console that you can buy the Zumba workout game for.0

You could take a class.. Buy a DVD video.

Bundle up, go for a walk, then come back and enjoy your blanket.
It will feel so much wamer after a walk. Extra chemical reaction0 -
I live in Alabama. Freezing to me is 50 degrees....so, well...I dont really do anything different than normal.0

Go to a nice warm gym, or go outside and layer, layer, layer! Once you get out and get moving, you'll warm up quick enough!
90% of the battle is just taking yourself outside!

I was contemplating the same thing the other day - my fave exercise is bike riding, and though it's 90 here now, it won't be for long! Guess I'll bundle up when possible, and other wise use my wii fit or some exercise videos or the treadmill to walk.. Harder to stay motivated though when I don't have the wind in my hair! :-)0
