Knee pain

I have severe knee pain from Arthritis, I was wondering if anyone here has lost a bunch of weight and how it affected your pain. I have about 50 pounds to loose, so I know that would make a difference.

I've had knee pain, but not this experience exactly. I think that losing that extra weight can only help. Do you have access to a stationary bike? They're easy on the knees.0 -
Certainly losing the extra weight will ease the burden on your knees.....another thought is to get yourself into a pool and do your exercise in there as it will help with your fitness levels, weight and not be too hard on your joints.
All the best.0 -
Also...just another thought....see if your Doctor can arrange an appointment with a Physiotherapist who can give you some structured exercises to help with your specific needs.

I had knee pain when I was doing jump rope when I was much heavier. It stuck with me for months.0

I have had arthritis in my knees since I was 23(45 now). \ The pain increased as my weight did and I have noticed that since I have lost 30+ pounds over the last 6 months, that my pain has decreased quite a bit. I still get inflammation due to weather changes but have definitely had a lot more good days than I used to and a lot fewer really bad ones. I also take a joint supplement which helps a lot.0

I don't have arthritis but did damage my knee as a teenager and have had problems ever since. I noticed that working out in the pool doing water walking and losing weight eased the pain significantly. I never thought I would be a runner but have just started to run short distances without knee pain.0
