Scales don't lie, they just don't tell the whole story

I follow a blogger and he wrote something interesting today. "Scales don't lie, they just don't tell the whole story". I think this is very true. Not as a way to be less accountable for your actions, but a way to see the whole picture. The scale doesn't show when you worked out 5 days a week and haven't lost a pound or when you are tempted by a sugary snack but choose fruit instead. Yes, its a record of your progress but it sometimes it does not defy how hard you have worked. Keep celebrating all your small successes and the weight loss will eventually follow.

I totally agree. After 1.5 months of being stuck on a same number, I have noticed that my body is at least firmer from all the exercise. So I think measuring tape is kind of more reliable!
  • Awesome truth!!!
  • This is so true! Thank you for posting this  Was a bit discouraged this morning after I stepped on the scale this morning & saw it hasn't moved in my favor:grumble: I won't give up though!

SO TRUE! Celebrate all the small healthy decisions you make along the way, Celebrate the lost inches, the loose waistbands, the missing double chin. Those things are indisputable . . . the scale is fun, but don't sock all of your healthy journey joy into what it tells you.

How true. I have stayed on course yet have now gained 2 pounds!
    It is all the walking,
I now have muscles when I just had fat before, so I am ok with the muscle weight gain.
My arms and legs have never been firmer!
I set a high goal for myself losing 100lbs in 7 months, it has been almost 4 and I have lost 44.
    Just stay your course!

    It's been 7 months and I've lost 92 pounds!
Did not make my goal of 100 but I am sticking to my program
the last 20 have been the hardest to loose!
Now I only need to lose 8 more and it is fighting me.
