You lost weight because you are consuming fewer calories than your body burns in a day. Consumption of artificial sweeteners and flavorings does not inhibit weight loss.0

Because they're not bad for you.0

I used to use alot of artificial sweetners, and like you, thought I couldn't do without. I liked things sweet. Well, I decided to quit when I joined MFP 3 yrs ago. I found I could get used to not adding them to my tea or coffee. If I really couldn't, I just added a tsp of sugar and logged it. Now I can't stand the taste of artificial sweetners. I like the taste of real food, and dark chocolate (72%). I'm glad I decided to quit.0

I consume A lot of Splenda, miracle noodles and Walden Farm products and my dad keeps telling me it will make me fat. I no they can if you consume a lot of carbs. I also exercise a lot everyday and I still lost weight through consuming a lot of the artificial stuff. I no they are bad for you but I rather consume them than extra calories and I really wish they make more of the 0 calorie stuff as food like the noodles. Life would be easier for me lol.0

Artificial sweeteners don't make you fat. Eating more calories than your body burns makes you fat. Now some people can get stomach aches from consuming too much artificial sweetener, but it doesn't affect your weight loss.0

How come they say artificial things causes insulin to rise in which causes fat storage?0

Harmful effects of sweeteners are as real as big foot and unicorns.

Who says that?0 -
I read so many articles about that, and how they say "stay away from artificial sweeteners"0

The only reason a person should stay away from them is if they have a sensitivity or allergy...since you consume them often with no ill affects, then I think you are fine.0

I've lost over 50lbs, have been in maintenance for over two years now, have excellent blood work panels and am in perfect health, and I consume artificial sweeteners every single day. Nothing wrong with them, unless you have an allergy/sensitivity to them.0

If they aren't causing you any problems, they aren't causing you any problems.
I drink about two gallons of sucralose-sweetened water every day. Well, it's slowing down a little since the weather has cooled, but I still drink over a gallon of it a day. I've lost 125 pounds.0 -

Because some people like to believe that everything with the word "artificial" in it is toxic, poison, bad for you, the root of all evil, etc...0 -
I knew it! I can't give up the artificial stuff because it helps me0
