Is the bun included in the calorie count?

Hi everyone! I just started tracking my calories today with myfitnesspal, but I was unsure of something and wanted to get it clarified right away instead of waiting a while and realizing I've been doing it wrong the whole time. For foods like home made hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hotdogs, etc. are the calories for the bun included in the listing or am I supposed to add a bun to my list separately? I assumed for listings for specific restaurants everything on it as per the menu would be included, but the home made items seemed ambiguous. This all pretty much new to me so any input would be greatly appreciated!

For homemade items, you need to log each item separately. Make sure you are using accurate database entries because they are mostly entered by other users.

If you cook something often, you can use the recipe builder or My Meals to save the items as a group.

Thank you very much for the quick reply and help. For all my home made items I've been comparing what I ate with all the home made options listed and going with what seemed closest portion wise, so hopefully I'm doing it right. I will need to check out the My Meals section for future reference so thank you for that too.

This is the wrong way. You don't know that the person who created the entry used the same types/amounts of ingredients you did.
